Capturing Leonida’s untamed natural wonder on lens
Not every objective in Grand Theft Auto VI is settled with firearms and explosive ordnance. The extraordinary ecological biodiversity of Leonida transforms this subtropical state into a virtual wildlife photographer’s paradise. From glowing flocks of pink flamingos rising over tidal flats to solitary apex panthers prowling the pine flatwoods of northern counties, Lucia and Jason’s smartphones feature high-end photography apps complete with focal depth, zoom controls, and lighting filters.
The Leonida Wildlife Safari Challenge invites players to explore every remote corner of the map when GTA 6 debuts on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5, cataloging twenty-five of the state’s most magnificent animal species in their natural habitats.
Official Safari Guidelines
- Living Specimens in the Wild: Harming, tranquilizing, or shooting animals prior to photographing them is strictly disqualified. Targets must be captured displaying authentic behavioral routines (foraging, hunting, or nesting).
- Clear Framing and Proper Exposure: The creature must occupy at least 30% of the frame with adequate daylight or spotlight illumination. Murky pitch-black silhouettes will not register on the scorebook.
- Wild Terrain Only: Photos taken inside urban enclosures, zoos, or pet stores are invalid.

Essential Gear for the Field Expedition
- Silent Approach Craft: A silent-propeller electric skiff or wooden kayak lets you slip through narrow waterways without frightening skittish wading birds.
- Scent Masking & Blind Positioning: Crouching in elevated hunting stands and approaching against prevailing winds ensures skittish big cats like the panther do not catch your scent before you snap the shutter.
